...an Independent wins in North Carrick and Maybole East, defeating the Tory by one vote, but effectively cementing the Tories' control of South Ayrshire Council; the SSP suggest that they're not contesting constituencies in 2007, and the LibDems overturn a five figure Labour majority in Dunfermline and West Fife.
