I'm taking Clairwil's advice...

...and adding Terry Kelly to my blogroll.

She's had a run in with him lately, after he accused those who disagreeing with him of being mentally ill (well, a friend of mine who suffers from depression read his blog today and called him a p***k - her word, not mine - but that's beside the point). Anyway, she suggested, quite reasonably (Clairwil does most things reasonably, please give her a read), that the Councillor was out of line to do this. He has accused her of synthetic rage - this from the same man who dresses up his attacks on the SNP as defence of the gay community. She first thought that maybe his blog was a bad idea. I suggested that if it shows him up to be the muppet he is, then it's a good thing. She then pointed out that I should aid that process by de-de-linking him. And you know what? She's right.

That is why, on this, the 24th anniversary of my birth (reports of a bright star shining over Sharoe Green Hospital, Preston that night are unconfirmed), I am giving myself a birthday present: Terrywatch. Terrywatch will be a whole section of this blog, devoted to him. It will not be complimentary. But here's the best part of all: it will use only two things. His own words, and the facts. Long live Terrywatch!

PS Duncan agrees with Clairwil as well.

Happy Birthday fellow Aquarian! If you make Govan for Campaign Conference, then a bloggers caucus is in order!

**Sorry about that but prolonged exposure to Tezza has wrecked my ability to spell or indeed comprehend basic English**

Genius! Well done. I may just be a crazy optimistic fool but I think we can bring Tezza to the worlds attention.

I'm tempted to attend Renfrewshire Ward 3's vote count come May.

It seems to be the week for highlighting Terry's lunacy - half the web's at it.

Now, if only his electorate were reading...

I know Max. Isn't it wonderful? I think this might qualify as the best meme ever.

Oh my God!
Have you read his latest post. I don't mind admitting I feel a bit shaken.

Grant - Us Aquarians get everywhere, don't we? Has your Birthday gone or is it yet to come? Not sure if I'll be at Govan, but if so we can start a Secret Clique of Reactionary Nationalist Bloggers. Start working on a secret handshake!

Clairwil - Kelly doesn't spook me at all, he just annoys me. Remember that the conspiracy he thought was happening is now starting to form... only because he keep insisting that there's a conspiracy. His latest post struck me as being utterly pitiful and it would have gone into Terrywatch, but I want Terrywatch to be an occasional feature for a slow news day - not something that takes over the whole blog. He's worth exposing, not obsessing over and that's a line I won't cross. :D

Max - we should start a viral e-mail, 'The Wit and Wisdom of TelKel'. ;)

I notice Clairwil on her blog mentions that Cooncilor Kelly is paid a salary of £15k (hey that’s even less than Scottish politics biggest political Neanderthal Tommy Sheridan!), and perhaps the old saying pay peanuts get Monkey is in this instance quite correct?

She also says "Oh and if you're reading this from outwith Scotland shaking your head at the funny little Jocks and their silly councillors", but does Kelly not prove that this is a perfectly reasonable response? If such nutcases existed in England we would be doing likewise I’m sure.

A nation that elects Rosie Kane to its parliament really does need to take a long hard look at itself, there is undoubtedly something rotten in the nation of Alba.

Well, in defence of Scotland, only a number of people in Shettleston voted for Rosie Kane. She gained her MSP status thanks to being ranked high enough on the SSP List to get a seat.

Will,
I certainly didn't intend mentioning him again this week or even this month come to that. I've even started to bore myself with it. His last post was brought to my attention via e-mail and I just thought what he was doing in that post was pretty despicable and didn't wish it to go unchallenged.

As you say the first thing to come up is his own rap on the knuckles from the Standards Commission. In light of his latest antics I can't help but think he should reflect again on their findings.

Anyway, Happy Birthday and keep up the good work.

I'll be adding a Terry Watch page.

He really is the best advert for why NOT to vote Labour.
