Douglas Henderson: 1935-2006

Douglas Henderson, one of the SNP's 'First Eleven' serving as MP for East Aberdeenshire from 1974 to 1979, and Deputy Leader from 1979 to 1981, has died following a short illness.

Henderson had only recently come back to politics, after a lenghty battle with cancer. He had been a European candidate in 2004, stood for Westminster in Dumfries & Galloway in 2005, and had been selected to fight Falkirk East next year. He was also ranked 4th on the Central Scotland list.
